Small group TRIPS

Grounded in design, traditional craft and soulful human connection. We will meet artisans and craftspeople; visit private studios; tour off-the-radar museums; and explore the landscapes and heritage traditions in places where traditional craft is deeply embedded in the culture. Our In Hand-guided trips sell out in a matter of days. Our newsletter is the best place to find out about these trips the minute they’re announced. Next trip: craft in Portugal’s Alentejo. You can also add your name to the waitlist.

Consulting

We offer consulting services, both editorial and experiential, across a broad swath of craft, design and travel-related verticals. Including but not limited to: creative brand work; editorial guides and print collateral; museum and gallery curation and outreach/brand identity; advise hospitality clients on editorial, communications and event strategies.

Trip planning

We accept a small handful of clients to guide through the trip-planning process for authentic, meaningful trips of a lifetime. From family trips to solo adventures, these trips will be 100 percent custom and tailored to each client, grounded in the kind of soulful travel ethos that guides In Hand. This means: small-scale inns with big personalities; traditional craft and studio visits; vernacular architecture and design; local markets; an appreciation for beauty, backroads and a disappearing way of life. Through a one-on-one process, we’ll create a custom itinerary that allows for human connection and the unexpected.

In Hand NEWSLETTER

The In Hand newsletter is where we share destination guides full of special places and hidden pockets of beauty; favorite hotels and tucked-away places to stay; age-old and fast-disappearing traditions of local craft. It’s where you’ll learn about our upcoming trips and current obsessions. It’s the kind of travel advice we give our closest friends, from lists jotted on napkins to long-winded love letters about our favorite discoveries. It’s a travel ethos.
