What’s included in the price
Accommodations: Lodging in hotels for all six nights, April 25-May 1, 2025, single-room occupancy (unless you’ve chosen the shared option).
Food: Three meals per day are included with the exception of two meals—when you’ll have the opportunity to explore towns/restaurants on your own. Breakfast will always be at the hotels. Lunches and dinners will be a mix of meals at the hotel with local restaurants in conjunction with outings. Alcohol is not included; any alcohol purchased is at your own expense.
Transportation: In Hand provides all participants transportation starting at our meeting spot in Lisbon on the morning of Day One, ending at the airport on the last day. If the participant needs transportation to the airport that does not align with our group departure, the participant will be responsible for arranging and paying for that transportation. If the participant would like to visit another location or attraction apart from planned group activities, they will be responsible for their own transportation.
Activity: All museum tickets, private tours and talks.
What’s not included in the price?
Airfare and airport transportation upon arrival: In Hand fees do not include any air, land, or sea transportation prior to meeting in Lisbon. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to our meeting point, although transportation will be provided back to the Lisbon airport on the last day. In Hand cannot be held responsible for any delays encountered during your travel, even if they cause you to miss part or all of your stay. No refund will be given for any portion of In Hand services missed due to travel interruptions or delays. Having travel insurance mitigates any potential issues.
Incidentals: Any expenses incurred by a participant in free time, when visiting a destination or participating in a group activity, that are not explicitly mentioned in “What’s Included” (above) are the responsibility of the participant. This includes, but is not limited to, phone and outside internet fees, souvenirs, personal items, medical expenses, and other expenses of a personal nature.
Optional hotel services: Spa treatments, bicycle rentals, mini bar, and/or extra meals/snacks throughout.
Travel Insurance: Mandatory travel insurance to cover emergencies, cancellations, illness, etc. In Hand requires that all guests obtain travel insurance that provides cover for accidents, personal injury, loss of luggage, and cancellation of their itinerary. In Hand is not liable for personal injury, death, damage to property, or other loss whether arising from accident, cancellation, delays, or any other matter beyond our control. Guests must provide proof of insurance 30 days before the retreat start date.
Payment
Deposit: $2,000 is due upon registration to reserve your place. The deposit is not refundable or transferable.
The remaining payment of $3,000 is due 90 days before the start of the trip and can be made via wire or Zelle free of fees; credit card payment will be subject to a 3% processing fee (for final payment only).
Cancellation policy
Cancellations are subject to the following rules:
You must notify In Hand, in writing, of your desire to cancel. The following conditions shall apply with respect to refunds for cancellations: If you cancel at least 90 days prior to departure, the $2,000 non-refundable deposit is retained, but additional payments made will be refunded in full; If you cancel within 90 days of departure, no payments made will be refunded. Again, travel insurance is required to attend. It protects your investment in the tour and your transportation costs.
If In Hand is forced to cancel a trip for any unforeseen circumstance beyond reasonable control, such as, but not limited to, acts of nature, health epidemic or pandemic, war, earthquake, flooding, etc., In Hand will give the Participants a refund of the final retreat payment. Participants’ deposits are non-refundable and cover deposits paid to suppliers.
If In Hand cancels due to low enrollment, your deposit will be fully refunded.
If, for any reason, a Tour Participant leaves a trip once it has begun, In Hand is not obliged to issue any refund, credit, or compensation.
A note on accommodations:
In the event of a hotel change, In Hand is committed to providing an alternative that meets or exceeds the planned stay.
Participant Waiver and Release of Liability
I do hereby release and agree to hold harmless In Hand, its affiliates, owners, vendors, operators, agents and employees from any and all liability associated with the following representations and agreements.
By purchasing a trip through In Hand you affirm that you fully understand and agree to the following Participant Waiver & Release of Liability and Terms & Conditions. I acknowledge, attest, agree and represent as follows:
I am at least 18 years of age.
I understand that my safety is my responsibility.
I acknowledge that there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. By attending the Experience, I voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
I understand and agree that the loss, theft, or destruction of my belongings is my sole responsibility.
I fully understand and accept, without limitation, sole responsibility for all of the risks associated with my participation while on the tour, including injury and death whether through my own actions or those of other participants, tour guides, pedestrians, restaurant patrons, automobiles, public transportation, acts of nature or any other external parties.
I understand that tastings may involve optional alcoholic beverages. If I am at least 21 years of age with valid government issued identification, and I choose to consume alcohol before, during, or after the tour, I accept full and sole responsibility for my behavior, wellbeing, and health.
I agree to disclose any and all food allergies of myself or anyone in my party, to In Hand via email or phone prior to tour commencement. I will not consume food I am allergic to.
I understand that I will be consuming food and beverages on this tour and I accept sole responsibility for all risks associated with my participation including food sickness, allergic reaction, and death. I am free to choose which foods, if any, I consume.
I represent that I am in good health, in proper physical condition, and capable of walking long distances outdoors. I am encouraged to wear proper clothing, use sunscreen, and stay hydrated throughout the tour. I am sufficiently self-aware to stop physical activity before I become ill or injured.
If while on the tour I begin to feel faint or nauseous, I will notify the tour guide and seek medical attention if necessary. I understand that my safety is my sole responsibility. I understand while on the tour I may become injured or harmed. I assume sole responsibility for this risk and release In Hand from all liability or damages resulting from my participation.
I understand and agree that the tour leader reserves the right to disqualify anyone at any time during the tour if he or she feels the tour participant is incapable and/or if a tour member’s continued participation will jeopardize the individual involved or the group. Refunds are not given under such circumstances.
I am aware that streets along the tour route are open to vehicular traffic and I will obey all traffic laws/regulations.
I waive liability and release In Hand, its affiliates, owners, vendors, operators, agents and employees from any and all actions, suits, claims, controversies, damages, judgments and executions whatsoever, in law or in equity, direct or indirect, known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable, which I may have or acquire, arising from, concerning or related to entry in, travel to or from and/or participation in In Hand events.
I agree that In Hand is not liable for delay or cancellation resulting from acts of fire, natural disaster, strikes, or civil disturbance.
I agree to grant to In Hand an irrevocable, sub-licensable, non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free right to use my photographic, video and digital likeness as well as any content submitted via website(s) or electronic mail, solely for our promotional and/or commercial purposes without further obligation or compensation.
This Participant Waiver & Release of Liability and subsequent Terms & Conditions shall be construed in accordance with, and its validity and effect (including any claims for breach of any of the terms thereof) shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, and this Terms and Conditions and subsequent Participant Waiver and Release of Liability contains the entire understanding and the agreement of the parties hereto and supersedes all other written and oral exchanges, arrangements or negotiations among them, whether written or oral, concerning the subject matter hereof.
Participation in this tour is at my sole risk, and I agree to release, discharge, defend and indemnify against, any and all liability, whether caused by willful or negligent conduct, In Hand, its affiliates, owners, operators, agents, and employees from any claims, actions and liabilities for injury (including death), illness and property losses, theft or damages to myself and those participating in the tour with me. This release shall extend to and include any person/entity acting through or on my behalf.
Agreement to the terms included above releases In Hand from all liability related to any injury or damages arising from participation in the tour, and indemnifies and holds In Hand harmless from any claims.
